IT Systems Administrator

systech is looking for a System Administrator to join a full-time opportunity.

The System Administrator must have a deep and broad knowledge of computer software, hardware, and networks. The IT System Administrator will be responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting our company’s on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure. The IT System Administrator will maintain the essentials such as operating systems, business applications, security tools, cloud servers, email, laptop, and desktop computers. Responsibilities: System Maintenance and Performance:

  • Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received. Evaluate and modify the system’s performance. Document internal procedures. Schedule and perform Windows updates on servers. Check server logs for hardware issues. Create and administer Group Policy Objects. Know Server O/S and Hardware EOL.

User and Account Management:

  • Manage user accounts and permissions. Assist in implementing IT Service Management. Manage devices and users in Intune. Setup policies in Intune.

Infrastructure and Security:

  • Maintain the integrity of the cloud infrastructure, server deployment, and security. Support LANs, WANs, network segments, internet, and intranet systems. Migrate server operating systems. Migrate physical servers to virtual or cloud servers.

Technical Support and Projects:

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming concerns and issues related to all IT systems and software. Ask educated questions and listen to customers to determine the root cause of issues. Assist in various IT projects.

Planning and Recommendations:

  • Make recommendations for future upgrades. Have a strong understanding of Entra, Azure, Exchange, and SharePoint administration.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.3+ years of experience as a System Administrator. Proficient knowledge of computer security best practices and policies. Familiarity with programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, or Perl. Working knowledge of level 3 TCP/IP networking technology/hardware. Basic understanding of applying technologies and systems to meet business needs. Experience using Azure AD or other active directory software. Proficiency in Windows, current equipment and technologies, procedures, system performance tuning, patch management, remote access utilities, backup and recovery, monitoring, and alerting applications. Familiarity with MDM/Desktop management tools (e.g., JAMF, Intune, MaaS360, Workspace ONE).Experience in security aspects including antivirus, MDR/MSP, mitigation, monitoring, and SSO/SCIM platforms like Okta. Exposure to application administration for platforms such as Tyler, Caselle, Atlassian, Box, Slack, etc. Some experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing. Demonstrated experience writing and editing scripts for system maintenance and administration. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Clean driving record and ability to pass background checks.
